چکیده

Abstract. A causal, non-Hermitian, renormalizable, local, unitary and Lorentz convariant formulation of Quantum Theory (QT) (= Quantum Mechanics (QM) and Quantum Field Theory (QFT)) is developed which is free of formalistic problems we face in the commonly used Hermitian formulation of QT. Side effects of the new formulation of QT are the derivation of a consistent (anti)causal neutrino Lagrangian, the enrichment of chiral symmetries, the removal of the Dirac sea, the separation of positive and negative energy states including a reformulation of the anti-particle concept and a critical analysis of the concept of probability currents. In a first step we apply the new formulation of QT to establish a relation between perturbative Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) and the (axial)vector meson extended Quark-Level Linear Sigma Model (QLLSM) at high energies.

Few- Body Systems Does It Make Any Sense to Talk about a ∆-isobar?

It is shortly investigated, on what basis an experimentally observed resonance like the ∆(1232)-isobar can be embedded into the framework of Quantum Theory (QT), i.e. Quantum Field Theory (QFT) and Quantum Mechanics (QM). After a short discussion of the particle concept in the context of the “bootstrap” idea of G. Chew and S. Mandelstam we will focus on the theoretical formalism being necessary...

Experiments in PT −symmetric quantum mechanics

Extended quantum mechanics using non-Hermitian (pseudo-Hermitian) Hamiltonians H = H is briefly reviewed. A few related mathematical experiments concerning supersymmetric regularizations, solvable simulations and large-N expansion techniques are summarized. We suggest that they could initiate a deeper study of non-localized structures (quasi-particles) and/or of their unstable and many-particle...

Pseudo-Hermitian Quantum Mechanics

A diagonalizable non-Hermitian Hamiltonian having a real spectrum may be used to define a unitary quantum system, if one modifies the inner product of the Hilbert space properly. We give a comprehensive and essentially self-contained review of the basic ideas and techniques responsible for the recent developments in this subject. We provide a critical assessment of the role of the geometry of t...

Spherical-separablility of non-Hermitian Dirac Hamiltonians and pseudo-PT -symmetry

A non-Hermitian PφTφ-symmetrized spherically-separable Dirac Hamiltonian is considered. It is observed that the descendant Hamiltonians Hr, Hθ, and Hφ play essential roles and offer some ”user-feriendly” options as to which one (or ones) of them is (or are) non-Hermitian. Considering a PφTφ-symmetrized Hφ, we have shown that the conventional relativistic energy eigenvalues are recoverable. We h...

Relativistic Non-Hermitian Quantum Mechanics

We develop relativistic wave equations in the framework of the new non-hermitian PT quantum mechanics. The familiar Hermitian Dirac equation emerges as an exact result of imposing the Dirac algebra, the criteria of PT -symmetric quantum mechanics, and relativistic invariance. However, relaxing the constraint that in particular the mass matrix be Hermitian also allows for models that have no cou...
